Woman run over after car crash in Buckinghamshire

A 19-year-old woman was killed when she was thrown from a car during a crash in Buckinghamshre and then hit by a van.

The teenager was a passenger in a Citroen Saxo which collided with a Rover on the A404 between Marlow and Handy Cross shortly after midnight.

The impact forced her out of the car and onto the opposite, northbound carriageway where she was hit by a Ford Transit van.

The teenager died died at the scene. Police have appealed for witnesses.

The male driver of the Saxo was taken to Wexham Park Hospital where his injuries are said to be serious but not life-threatening, police said.

The male drivers of the other two vehicles were treated for shock.

The road was closed in both directions for around nine hours.

Sgt Simon Hills of Thames Valley Police said: "We would like to speak to anyone who might have seen either the Citroen or the Rover prior to this accident, whichever carriageway they were travelling on."
