Vodka seized in Potters Bar 'contained de-icer'
Bottles of vodka seized by trading standards officers in Hertfordshire have been found to contain de-icer.
The county council said it was alerted by a consumer who felt ill after drinking Drop Vodka bought from an off licence in Potters Bar.
Officers visited the shop and seized the vodka with tests later showing it was contaminated with de-icer.
The council said the vodka should not be consumed.
Richard Thake, executive member for community safety, said: "Although the product sampled was not deemed to be injurious to health, it can be safely assumed that such spirits are not subject to rigorous quality control systems.
"Therefore you are taking a big risk if you consume this drink, as there is no telling exactly what it contains."
