Milk float overturns in collision in Hertfordshire

A milkman has been airlifted to hospital after his float overturned in a road crash in Hertfordshire.

Ambulance crews were called to the A41 at Hemel Hempstead shortly after 13:45 BST on Monday following reports of a crash involving the float and a lorry.

They found the milk float on its roof up a grass embankment.

The driver of the milk float was taken by Herts Air Ambulance to Queen's Hospital in Romford with head and leg injuries.

The man driving the lorry was taken by land ambulance to Watford General Hospital with minor injuries.

The A41 was closed in both directions for a time following the crash.

The air ambulance landed on the road at the scene.
