Date set for street entertainer's murder trial

A man has appeared in court to deny the murder of a street entertainer whose body was found in a garden in Watford, Hertfordshire.

Mujib Hakim, 40, was last seen on 27 May and his body was found in a garden in Merton Road, Watford, on 20 August.

Josh Lewis, 20, of Merton Road, Watford pleaded not guilty to murder when he appeared at St Albans Crown Court.

Kevin Keegan, 22, of Stroudgate, Harrow, pleaded not guilty to perverting the course of justice.

Mr Keegan also pleaded not guilty to preventing a lawful burial.

Mr Lewis, who was remanded in custody, denied perverting the course of justice, preventing a lawful burial and possessing a stun gun.

Judge Stephen Gullick granted Mr Keegan bail and set a provisional trial date of 9 January 2012.
