A teenager has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a 42-year-old man in Luton following a New Year's Eve party.

Michael Geffken died from a heart attack after being stabbed in the chest in Hemsley Close, Luton, at about 03:00 GMT on 1 January.

Ryan Curtis, 18, of Gilderdale, Luton, has been charged with murder.

He is being held in custody and is due to appear at Luton Magistrates on Wednesday morning, police said.

Two other teenagers - a boy and a girl - have been released on police bail in connection with the case.

Mr Geffken had been attending a party at his partner's house.

Police said Mr Geffken, a German national who had lived in the UK for "many years", died shortly after an "altercation".
