Teenager remanded over New Year's Day death in Luton

An 18-year-old youth has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a German man living in Bedfordshire.

Ryan Curtis, of Gilderdale, Luton, appeared before magistrates charged with the murder of Michael Geffken, who had lived in England for several years.

Mr Geffken, 42, was at a party in Helmsley Close on the Hockwell Ring estate in Luton when he was stabbed to death early on New Year's Day.

Mr Curtis will appear before Luton Crown Court on 17 January.
