Man found shot in leg outside High Wycombe pub

A 20-year-old man has been found shot in the leg outside a pub in High Wycombe.

Armed police were called to where the man was found, outside the Disraeli Arms, in Wycombe Marsh, at about 18:00 GMT on Saturday.

The man was taken to hospital where his condition was not said to be life threatening.

Thames Valley Police said eight people had been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

Officers were called to the scene by South Central Ambulance Service. The man had been shot once in the lower leg.

Police had earlier said they believed the man had been shot where he had been found.

However, they have now said they are not sure he was shot outside the pub and have urged anyone with information to contact them.

'Targeted attack'

Road closures were put in place to protect the scene while an investigation takes place.

Ch Insp Colin Seaton said: "This was a very unusual and concerning incident which we are treating as a targeted attack.

"We have already made eight arrests in connection with this inquiry and I want to reassure people that we will do all we can to investigate this crime and catch those responsible.

"The victim will need to undergo surgery as a result of his injuries but his condition is not life-threatening."
