Fall in Christmas drink-drive arrests in Bedfordshire
The number of motorists arrested after being caught drinking and driving in Bedfordshire over the 2011 festive period has fallen from to 69 from 75 the previous Christmas.
While between 1 December 2011 and 1 January 2012, the number of under 25s arrested fell from 13 to 11 compared to the same period in 2010-11.
The number of drivers who were stopped and breathalysed rose from 557 to 590.
Police said work to combat drinking and driving continues after Christmas.
Bedfordshire Police originally said drink-driving arrests had almost doubled compared to the previous Christmas, but later claimed the figures were incorrect.
