Bedford man accused of taxi driver murder

A 26-year-old man from Bedford has been charged with murdering a 61-year-old taxi driver.

Mehar Dhariwal, of Kempston, died in hospital on 29 January following an assault in St Peters Street, Bedford, a week earlier.

The accused man is due to appear at Luton Magistrates' Court on Friday.

The taxi driver was taken to hospital after the assault and later discharged but was then readmitted five days later and died on Sunday.
