Bedfordshire taxi driver murder accused in court

A 26-year-old man accused of murdering a taxi driver in Bedford has appeared in court.

Daniel Rogers, of The Cloisters, Bedford, appeared at Luton Crown Court charged with the murder of 61-year-old Mehar Dhariwal from Kempston.

Mr Dhariwal, of Hillgrounds, died on 29 January after being assaulted in St Peter's Street a week earlier.

Mr Rogers was remanded in custody by Judge Richard Foster. He is due to appear in court again on 27 April.
