Missing man found after care home blaze in Hertfordshire

An elderly man thought to have dementia who was missing after a fire broke out in a home for elderly people in Hertfordshire has been found.

About 40 firefighters were sent to tackle the fire at Dudley House, at Bovingdon, near Hemel Hempstead, at about 07:45 GMT.

The fire service said the fire, which has now been put out, was in a first-floor flat in the two-storey building.

One person was treated after inhaling smoke but was not seriously injured.

The elderly man found by police is having his mental health assessed.

Police are investigating whether the fire was started deliberately.
