Jail for Royston death crash driver Marcus Gibson

An 18-year-old driver has been sentenced to four years in a young offenders' institution for causing the death of a boy in a crash.

James Clennell, 16, who was a passenger in a car, died in Melbourne Street, Royston, in the crash on 20 June 2011.

Marcus Gibson, 18, of Monks Walk, Buntingford, admitted causing death by dangerous driving.

Gibson was also sentenced to a further four months for assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He was also handed a further two months concurrent for each of two charges of common assault and one charge of criminal damage, to run consecutive to his other sentences.
