Hunt for car in High Wycombe hit-and-run death

Police are searching for a car involved in a hit-and-run crash in Buckinghamshire in which a man was killed.

The 25-year-old victim was hit by a car in Cockpit Road, Great Kingshill, High Wycombe, at 22:45 GMT on Thursday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three men, aged 22, 24 and 38, were arrested on suspicion of murder after the crash.

They have been released on police bail until 23 April.

Detectives are looking for the car involved in the incident, a Thames Valley Police spokesman said.

The car is believed to be a light or silver-coloured saloon which may have been damaged on its front end nearside in the incident.

It is thought to have been travelling from the direction of Little Kingshill and left towards Cockpit Road after the crash, turning left in Cryers Hill Road.

Det Ch Insp Gill Wootton said: "This is a tragic loss for the family and friends of the man involved.

"I appeal to the driver involved or anyone who may have information about the car or the driver to come forward as a matter of urgency."
