Waltham Cross man jailed for throwing puppy at wall

A 20-year-old man from Hertfordshire who threw a puppy against a wall, causing it fatal injuries, has been jailed for 14 weeks.

Serdar Bosnak, of Felstead Road, Waltham Cross, threw the Staffordshire Bull Terrier against a wall on 10 May after a row with his girlfriend.

Bosnak admitted causing unnecessary suffering to the dog.

At Stevenage Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, he was also banned him from keeping animals for 10 years.

A Crown Prosecution Service spokeswoman said Bosnak had bought the pet for his girlfriend.

He inflicted the injuries on the dog after the couple had a row, the spokeswoman said.

The animal was dead when police arrived at the scene.
