Cyclist injured in 'hit and run' in St Albans
A cyclist has been found in a road with serious head injuries after a suspected hit and run crash in Hertfordshire.
The 47-year-old man was discovered in Homewood Road in St Albans at 23:30 BST on Thursday and given treatment at the scene by ambulance crews and a doctor.
The man, who lives locally, was taken to St Mary's Hospital, a specialist trauma centre in Paddington, London.
Hertfordshire Police said they thought he had been in collision with a vehicle.
Anyone with information has been urged to contact police.
The East of England Ambulance Service said two of its Hertfordshire crews attended with the assistance of a doctor from the London-based voluntary group British Association for Immediate Care.
