Afsana Kossar murder denied by husband Sajid Mahmood

A Bedfordshire man has admitted killing his wife, but denies murdering her.

Sajid Mahmood, 52, of Sandy Road in Bedford, admitted the manslaughter of Afsana Kossar, 35, when he appeared at Luton Crown Court on Monday.

His plea was rejected by Michael Speak, for the CPS, and a murder trial is due to start on 1 October.

Mr Mahmood was remanded in custody by Judge Richard Foster. Mrs Kossar died outside her home in Rosamond Road, Bedford, on 11 April, the court heard.
