Felixstowe 1993 bank heist: Eddie Maher's partner held
Two members of a security guard's family have been arrested in connection with the theft of almost £1.2m from outside a Suffolk bank in 1993.
Deborah Brett, 47, and Margaret Francis, 64, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to steal and assisting an offender.
The women are respectively the partner and sister of Eddie Maher, 57.
He denies stealing the money from a security van outside Lloyds Bank, in Felixstowe, in January 1993.
Mr Maher, formerly of South Woodham Ferrers, Essex, was arrested in Missouri in the US in February and returned to the UK in July.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to stand trial at Ipswich Crown Court on 4 March next year.
The women were arrested by Suffolk Police officers in Eastbourne and are currently being held in custody at Eastbourne custody investigation suite.
