Mr Maher, formerly of South Woodham Ferrers, Essex, was arrested in Missouri in the US in February and returned to the UK in July.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to stand trial at Ipswich Crown Court on 4 March next year.

The women were arrested by Suffolk Police officers in Eastbourne and are currently being held in custody at Eastbourne custody investigation suite.
