There was "a short stand-off" between football fans and police following a football cup tie.

Officers from six forces were brought in to help police the FA Cup fifth round fixture between Luton Town and Millwall.

Violence was feared after the previous cup tie between the sides led to a riot in Kenilworth Road in 1985.

Seven men were arrested for public order offences in connection with Saturday's match.

Supt Linda Kelly, of Bedfordshire Police, said: "It is a shame a small minority behaved badly after the game but the vast majority of fans enjoyed the occasion despite the result on the field and went away without causing any problems."

Millwall won the game 3-0.
