Luton driver Jason Swift jailed over driving offence lie

A banned driver caught speeding has been jailed after he told police he was his brother.

Jason Swift, of Thaxted Close in Luton, claimed to be his younger brother Adam when he was pulled over in Tottenhoe last September.

But officers noticed he had a tattoo bearing his surname and checks revealed his brother did not have a tattoo.

At Luton Crown Court, Swift admitted perverting the course of justice and a number of driving offences.

He was jailed for 10 months and given a six-month driving ban.
