Luton shootings: New arrest over conspiracy to murder

A third man has been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting in Luton, that took place just hours after a peace rally in the town.

A man on a motorbike fired two shots at a BMW in Culverhouse Road on 5 May, but the driver was unharmed.

Bedfordshire Police said a 21-year-old Luton man was arrested on conspiracy to murder earlier.

A 22-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and another man, 22, arrested on conspiracy to murder.

The latest arrest was carried out after police searched a home on Primrose Close. A second property in Littlefield Road was also searched earlier, but no arrests were made.

There have been 17 gun-related incidents in the town this year, 10 of which have been shootings.
