Hundreds of mourners have attended the funeral of a young father murdered in Hertfordshire.

Thomas Ward, 21, was shot in the chest outside the caravan in Stevenage he shared with his wife and five-day-old daughter.

Mourners at his funeral at St Peters Catholic Church in Hatfield wore shirts bearing his picture.

Police are seeking John Boy Ward and his wife Joleen Josie in connection with the murder.

Mr Ward is wanted on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and his wife on suspicion of assisting an offender, Hertfordshire Police said.

Thomas Ward was attacked when he confronted three men on the Dyes Lane caravan site.

He was found unconscious in undergrowth nearby and died later the same night in hospital.
