Man who died after River Great Ouse fall named

A 93-year-old man who was rescued from a river but later died has been named by police.

David Millar, of Linden Road in Bedford, is thought to have fallen in the town's River Great Ouse on Monday morning.

A member of the public pulled him out of the water and tried to revive him before he was taken to Bedford South Wing Hospital, where he died.

An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned on Tuesday.
