Ian McLoughlin appears in court over Graham Buck killing

A 55-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murdering a man who was stabbed to death in a Hertfordshire village.

Ian John McLoughlin, who was arrested in London on Wednesday, appeared at Hatfield Remand Court.

He spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address, which was given as HMP Springhill in Buckinghamshire.

Mr McLoughlin was charged with the murder of Graham Buck, 66, on Saturday in Little Gaddesden.

He has also been charged with robbery and possession of cannabis.

Mr Buck was stabbed after going to help a neighbour, police said.

Magistrates sent the case to St Albans Crown Court where Mr McLoughlin will appear via video link from the prison where he is being held on 23 July.

Two other people, a 54-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man have been charged with assisting an offender following Mr McLoughlin's arrest.
