An articulated milk tanker has crashed into the side of a house in Aylesbury.

Road closures are in place following the accident at the junction of Ellen Road and Witham Way at 09:25 GMT, Thames Valley Police said.

A spokeswoman added there were no reported causalities and the tanker was empty at the time.

The fire service said it had isolated gas and electricity supplies and is assessing the building for structural damage.

Police said there was no timescale for the roads to reopen but urged drivers should avoid the area if possible.

Milk haulage company Wincanton confirmed it was its lorry but would not reveal where it was travelling to or from.

"The health and safety of our employees and the general public is of paramount importance to Wincanton, and we will be helping the police with their investigation," a statement said.
