Luton Labour council electoral fraud probe launched

Allegations of council electoral fraud involving the Labour Party in Luton are being investigated by police.

Bedfordshire Police said officers had been contacted about historic allegations regarding postal voting.

The BBC understands that the claims relate to the 2011 local council elections in the town.

The allegations emerged after two party members approached the national party and were told to contact the police. No arrests have been made.
