Thomas Ward killing: Husband and wife deny charges
A husband and wife have appeared in court to deny charges relating to the killing of a traveller at his caravan in Hertfordshire.
Thomas Ward, 21, was shot at Dyes Lane, Stevenage on 23 April last year.
John Boy Ward, 33, of Clarkson Court, Hatfield, appeared via video link at St Albans Crown Court and pleaded not guilty to murder.
Joleen Josie Ward, 21, of Hickman Road in Chadwell Heath, east London denied assisting an offender.
Thomas Ward's wife had given birth to a daughter five days before the shooting. He was Mr Ward's second cousin.
Mr Ward made his plea from Bedford prison where he will continue to be held on remand. Mrs Ward was granted bail.
Their trial is due to be heard later this year.
