A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to murder a man earlier this month.

The 38-year-old has been questioned about an assault on a man, 46, in his flat above the Shaanti Indian Restaurant, in Leighton Road, Heath and Reach, Bedfordshire.

He was found injured in his home at 06:30 BST on 11 May.

Police said they had now been able to speak to the victim, who is recovering from serious head injuries.

Det Sgt Steve Facer, the investigating officer, said he was keen to speak to anyone who saw the victim or anyone suspicious in the area between midnight and 06:00 BST on 11 May.

Mr Facer said: "We still need to trace anyone who may have seen or heard any unusual activity during this key six-hour period and I would urge anyone who has information, no matter insignificant it may seem, to come forward and help piece together the circumstance surrounding this assault."
