A 43-year-old inmate is on the run from a Buckinghamshire prison.

Michael Rothery absconded from Spring Hill prison in Grendon Underwood in the early hours of Monday.

He is white, 5ft 9ins, of stocky build, with a bald head. Police said they did not know how he was dressed, but may have been wearing a green jacket.

Officers are appealing for the public's help to trace him by calling in any sightings and warned people not to approach him.

Ch Insp Olly Wright said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen this man in the area and can provide us with information about his movements.

"I would advise anyone who sees him not to approach him and to call police immediately."
