Girl, 6, road death in South Oxhey 'accidental'
The death of a six-year-old girl hit by a car in Hertfordshire was accidental, a coroner has concluded.
Lara Fernandes-Pontes was taken to hospital following the crash on Hayling Road, South Oxhey, in July last year but later died.
The inquest in Hatfield presided over by senior coroner for Hertfordshire Edward Thomas, heard the girl was hit by a Land Rover Discovery.
Sgt Chris Kent had described it as "a tragic loss of a young life".
The driver of the vehicle and its occupants were unharmed but "obviously shaken by what happened", Sgt Kent said at the time of the accident.
