Members of the public have been warned not to approach a convicted armed robber who has absconded from an open prison in Buckinghamshire.

Patrick Hatter, 34, is believed to have walked out of HMP Springhill, in Grendon Underwood, between 23:00 GMT on Saturday and 07:00 on Sunday.

Thames Valley Police said he has links to the Milton Keynes area.

He is described as white, about 5ft 11ins tall, skinny with brown hair, brown eyes and clean shaven.

Det Insp Mark Baxter said the force was keen to speak to anyone with information about Hatter's whereabouts.

"I would like also like to remind people that it is a criminal offence to harbour an absconded prisoner and anyone found doing so is also risking arrest," he said.
