Aylesbury man and woman arrested in baby murder probe

A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a six-month-old girl in Buckinghamshire.

The child was pronounced dead at Narbeth Drive, Aylesbury, on Sunday 3 April after the emergency services received reports she was ill.

The woman, aged 31, and man, 33, are both from the town but Thames Valley Police would not confirm what link they had to the girl.

A post-mortem examination proved inclusive as to the cause of death.

Det Ch Insp Mike Lynch said: "We believe this to be an isolated incident and we are conducting a full investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.

"A scene watch remains in place in Narbeth Drive and officers are in the area today conducting inquiries."
