Mark Altabas stab death: Two charged with murder

Two people have been charged with the murder of a man who was found stabbed in a street in Stevenage on Thursday.

Mark Altabas, 47, was discovered by police on Angle Ways at 04:20 BST. He died later at Lister Hospital.

Robert Crook, 57, and Katie Holmes, 43, both of Long Leaves in the town, have been charged with murder.

Two other people were released on bail by Hertfordshire Police while another remained in custody.

The pair who have been charged appeared at Hatfield Remand Court where they were remanded in custody and told to re-appear at St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday.

The family of Mr Altabas, who was from Stevenage, said: "Mark was a loving son, father, brother and partner, who was loved dearly by family and friends for his caring and outgoing nature.

"He will be sadly missed by all."
