A man has admitted trying to murder a woman in the same spot in Luton where her husband was killed nearly seven years ago.

Tomasz Jaworski, 30, pleaded guilty at Luton Crown Court to the attempted murder of shopkeeper Nirupa Patel, 56, on Christmas Eve.

She was stabbed at Moon's Newsagents in Park Street, where her husband Jashbai, 59, was murdered on 14 June 2009.

Jaworski also admitted actual bodily harm to two others at the same time.

Judge Richard Foster adjourned sentence until next month pending psychiatric and pre-sentence reports.

Mrs Patel's husband was murdered by Richard Dettmer, who was jailed for life in December 2009.
