A man arrested on suspicion of murdering an elderly woman in Buckinghamshire has been taken to hospital, police said.

The 23-year-old High Wycombe man was detained after Albertina Choules, 81, was attacked at her home in Ragmans Lane, near Marlow Bottom, on Wednesday.

Thames Valley Police said he is still under arrest and receiving treatment.

The force is also asking for information about the whereabouts of a suspect prior to the attack.

He is described as white, about 6ft (1.83m) tall, with a wiry build and short, cropped dark hair that is slightly longer on top. Police said he had noticeable pale blue eyes.

Officers said they would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a man matching the description between 22:00 BST on 2 July and 12:00 on 3 July or 18:00 BST on 5 July and 08:00 BST on 6 July.

Mrs Choules was killed by a "blunt-force head injury" before her body was set alight, a post-mortem examination found.
