Murder investigation over Burnham pub brawl death

A murder investigation is under way after a man died in a pub brawl on Saturday morning.

Dean Haverley sustained fatal injuries in the George Inn in Burnham, near Slough, on Saturday morning and later died in hospital.

The 48-year-old was described as "well liked" and a "family man" by his friends.

No-one has been arrested and police are appealing for witnesses to the assault, a police cordon is in operation.

Friend Colin Munt said: "It's shocking to hear what happened last night and that this happy-go-lucky top bloke, and good friend, is no longer with us. I still can't believe it."

Police were called to the George Inn just after midnight.

Detective Chief Inspector Simon Steel: "My appeal is to anyone who was in The George Inn public house around midnight who witnessed the assault or has any information regarding the incident to contact police immediately."
