Appeal over shooting of Wokingham taxi driver

A 40-year-old man who was shot in a Berkshire suburb is a taxi driver, police said.

The man, who was injured in The Delph, in Lower Earley, Wokingham, at 2325 BST on Monday, is in a stable condition.

Det Ch Insp Steve Tolmie said the man's injuries were not thought to be life-threatening and detectives were "keeping an open mind".

A spokesman added: "There is no information that indicates that there is a risk to any other taxi driver."

Neighbourhood officers are patrolling the area to "offer reassurance to the community".

Police asked anyone with information to contact them.
