Detectives investigating the rape of a 13-year-old girl in Reading have arrested a teenager.

Thames Valley Police said the 17-year-old, from Slough, was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of rape and released on bail.

Police said the girl was walking in Northumberland Avenue in Reading on Tuesday 16 November when she got into a car, before being driven to Tilehurst.

The arrested man has been bailed until 11 January while inquiries continue.

Officers said the victim was raped by a man in a car at a "small car park" in an unknown location.
