Man dies after Beenham wheelchair crash

A man who was injured when his wheelchair was hit by a car in Berkshire has died from his injuries.

The crash happened as the 82-year-old and his wife, 71, were crossing the A4 dual carriageway at Beenham on Saturday 20 November at about 1750 GMT.

Police said the man was being pushed by his wife in a wheelchair when they were struck by a Fiat Seicento. Both had head and pelvis injuries.

Both were taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital, where the man has since died.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
