Pair attack man with baseball bat in Reading

A man needed hospital treatment after being attacked by two men with a baseball bat in Berkshire.

The 24-year-old victim was walking in Oxford Road in Reading at 0215 GMT when he noticed he was being followed by a silver car, believed to be a Subaru Impreza.

As he turned into Drayton Road two men got out of the vehicle, one armed with a bat, and began hitting him.

The man suffered a cut head, loose teeth and a suspected broken hand.

Det Con Tim Lloyd of Thames Valley Police said: "The victim does not know the men who attacked him and at this stage it appears to be an unprovoked attack.

"I appreciate that this incident happened in the early hours of the morning, but there was a lot of noise during the attack and it happened in a built-up area, so it likely that people were disturbed and looked out to see what was happening."

The man with the baseball bat is described as white, about 5ft 8in to 5ft 9in tall, of stocky build. The other man is described as white, of slim build and with dark brown shaven hair.
