More time to quiz murder suspect over homeless death
Police have been given more time to question a second man arrested on suspicion of murder after a homeless man was found stabbed in Reading.
The body of Damian Whyte, 33, was discovered by a member of the public at View Island, Caversham, on Wednesday.
Police now have until 1600 GMT on Wednesday to charge or release a 27-year-old man from the Katesgrove area.
Earlier, Alan Levey, 35, of Southampton Street, Reading, appeared at Reading Crown Court charged with murder.
A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Whyte died from multiple stab wounds.
West Berkshire Magistrates' Court granted Thames Valley Police the custody extension to continue questioning the 27-year-old man.
