Man's skull fractured in Reading attack

A man suffered a fractured skull and eye socket when he was set upon by a group of men in Berkshire.

The 22-year-old victim from Twyford was out with a friend when they were surrounded by the men outside the Hope Tap pub in Friar Street, Reading.

They kicked and punched the man repeatedly and he was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police appealed to people in the area at about 0400 GMT on Sunday who may have witnessed the attack.
