Two arrested over takeaway attack

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Berkshire after a man was stabbed in the body and head.

The 32-year-old was attacked at the Chick 'n' Hut takeaway in Wokingham Road, Reading, on Sunday evening.

He remains in Royal Berkshire Hospital where his condition is described as stable.

Thames Valley Police said the victim was believed to have known his attackers. Two men are being questioned.

Det Insp Mark Tucker said: "We appreciate that there may some concern in the community about this incident.

"At this stage we believe that the victim and the people who have attacked him are known to each other.

"It does not appear to be a robbery that has gone wrong."
