Royal wedding: Giant cake for Kate's Bucklebury village

Help

Villagers in Kate Middleton's home village of Bucklebury in Berkshire will be tucking into a giant cake to mark the royal wedding.

Local baker Claire Shepherd is making sixteen fruit cakes, which are each 1sq ft (0.1 sq m) in size.

They will be stacked on top of each other to make an 8ft (2.4m) cake, all topped off with a fairy castle.

Ms Shepherd is using a scaled-down model to help her with the finishing touches.
