Girl bitten on face in Bracknell dog attack

A three-year-old girl has been bitten on the face by a dog in Berkshire.

The girl was walking past the Staffordshire bull terrier-type dog, which was tied up outside Londis in Great Hollands Square, Bracknell.

The animal attacked the child, who was treated for bites to her face at a nearby doctor's surgery on Thursday afternoon.

Police are trying to trace the owner and appealed to anyone in the area at the time of the attack to come forward.

Pc Kieran Budd, from Bracknell police station, said: "There were quite a few people about at the time of the incident in a busy shopping square and I ask anybody who witnessed what happened to come forward and speak to me urgently."
