Old Windsor toilet police base plans approved
Plans to turn a former public toilet in a Berkshire village into a police base for officers have been agreed.
The dilapidated site in Old Windsor will also include a council office, information stand and two lavatories.
The idea for the centre had already been approved by the parish council but has now been given the green light by Windsor Council.
The centre will cost about £55,000 and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Council chairman, Tony Troughton, said it would allow officers to spend more time on the village beat.
He added: "We have put it out to tender and will see who comes forward.
"We would hope construction would be completed within 10 weeks or so."
