Woman attacked in Berkshire after leaving bus

A woman was sexually assaulted by a man after getting off a bus in Berkshire.

The 20-year-old was walking away from the bus stop near Firs Road in Tilehurst when the attacker came up behind her.

He sexually assaulted the woman who managed to break free from his grip and run away late on Monday night.

Police said they are also investigating a similar incident on 26 June when a woman, 30, was attacked in the Partridge Drive area of Tilehurst.

The suspect in Monday's incident is described as white, in his 40s, balding and unshaven.

He was wearing dark-coloured clothing and a dark coat that came down to above the knee.

Det Sgt Paul Davidson, from Newbury CID, said: "Thankfully the woman wasn't hurt during this incident, but has been left shaken by what happened.

"We are urging anyone who was in the area last night who may have seen or heard anything, to come forward and help us with our investigation."
