Reading stabbing: Four men arrested

A man has been stabbed in the stomach during a brawl in Reading.

Thames Valley Police said there had been a fight involving several people in Canterbury Road at about 2000 BST on Thursday.

A 36-year-old man was stabbed once in the stomach. He was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital, where his condition is described as stable.

Four men, aged between 23 and 54, have been arrested and remain in custody. Police are appealing for information.

Det Sgt Elton Evans said: "At this stage we believe this was an isolated incident."
