Burglars attack man in Tidmarsh home
A man suffered facial injuries when he was attacked in the hallway of his own home in Berkshire after confronting a group of burglars.
The 44-year-old was woken by banging at his home in Tidmarsh, near Reading, at 02:00 BST when four or five men forced their way through the front door.
When he confronted them, they attacked him and shouted - demanding to know the whereabouts of some money.
The man's teenage son called the police and the men ran off towards Tilehurst.
Nothing was stolen.
Thames Valley Police said the victim was taken to Royal Berkshire Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not life threatening.
