Parts of Reading's Oxford Road closed for works

Parts of a major route through Reading were closed at the weekend as part of an £850,000 upgrade.

Sections of Oxford Road were shut between 07:00 and 22:00 BST on Saturday and Sunday.

The road was closed between Norcot Road and Grovelands Road and between Western Elms Avenue and Beresford Road.

Resurfacing is taking place across the town over eight weeks, and has been timed with the school summer holidays to minimise disruption.

Oxford Road will also be closed between Grovelands Road and Beresford Road between 1 and 5 August.

Sixteen other roads will be affected and details can be found on Reading Borough Council's website.
