Car hits 12-year-old bicycle girl in Windsor

A 12-year-old girl cyclist was injured when a car mounted a pavement and collided with her in Windsor.

She was struck by a green Volkswagen in Alma Road after it swerved to avoid hitting another car, said to be silver in colour, at about 08:10 BST Monday.

The accident forced the girl into a wall causing her cuts and grazes.

PC Andy Fordyce from Thames Valley Police said the Volkswagen driver stopped to check on the girl but did not leave his details.

The silver car left the scene without stopping.
